はじめに
毎年、決まってやることってありますよね。
家族の誕生日、歯医者の健診、防災グッズの見直しなど…。
でも、ふと忘れてしまうことも多くて「アレ、やったっけ？」となりがち。
そこで私は、「毎年のルーティンTODO」を月ごとにリスト化してみました。
頭の中がスッキリするし、抜け漏れも減ります。
今回はその中から 「8月〜11月」のTODOリストをご紹介。
みなさんの習慣作りのヒントになればうれしいです！
※家族の誕生日の準備は、以下のリストに含めていません。プレゼント、ケーキの内容など、だいたい1か月前から検討を開始します。
「8月〜11月」のTODOリスト

| 11月 | 着物の虫干し👘 | 絹の着物は虫に食べられたり、湿気でカビたりするので、お手入れが必要です。天気の良い日に風通しの良いところで４時間ほど陰干しします。 |

| 家の更新料の支払い🏠 | 今は賃貸暮らし。２年に１度更新料を支払います。 |
↑お手入れの手間はかかりますが、着物ライフ楽しんでます♪

Annual Tasks by Month: My August–November Routine List
There are certain things we all do every year—like celebrating family birthdays, going for dental checkups, or reviewing emergency supplies.
But let’s be honest, it’s easy to forget some of them. Ever find yourself wondering, “Wait, did I do that this year?”
That’s why I created a Monthly Annual Routine To-Do List.
It helps clear my mind and minimizes those “oops, I forgot” moments.
Today, I’m sharing my August–November tasks from that list.
I hope it gives you some inspiration for creating your own family routines!
※Note: I haven’t included birthday preparations in the list below. I usually start planning gifts and cake about a month in advance.
August–November To-Do List

| August | Prepare gifts for a friend’s family🎂 | I send a gift every year to a college friend and her two children. We’ve been friends for over 10 years, and it’s my way of showing appreciation for that long-standing relationship. |
| September | Clean the washing machine | I do this once every three months using a dedicated cleaner. |
| Dental checkups for the kids🪥 | These happen every six months. | |
| Emergency supplies check🎒 | In line with Disaster Prevention Day on September 1st, I review our emergency supplies. I also update any notes inside the emergency kits, such as insurance details and emergency contacts, and purchase anything new we might need. | |
| Seasonal wardrobe change 🧥(second half of the month) | Time to switch over to fall and winter clothes! |
| October | Plan for winter vacation⛄ | I start planning any travel or family visits early to secure good deals and avoid last-minute stress. |
| Clean the shoe cabinet with alcohol spray👠 | I wipe it down to keep things fresh and hygienic. | |
| Book flu vaccinations💉 | Reservations usually open around this time. | |
| Clean the bathtub circulation pipe🛁 | I do this every two months during the colder seasons using Scrubbing Bubbles Jabba. | |
| Review total household assets💰 | I check how our finances have changed over the past year. This includes calculating balances across all savings accounts, company programs, and cash holdings. |
| November | Air out my kimono👘 | Silk kimonos need to be aired out to prevent damage from humidity and insects. I hang them in a well-ventilated spot out of direct sunlight for about four hours on a clear day. |
| Prepare for Christmas🎄 | I start thinking about gifts and meals for the big day. | |
| Pay the apartment lease renewal fee🏠 | We currently rent, and in Japan, lease renewals happen every two years and require a fee. This system doesn’t seem to exist in the U.S.—lucky you(them)! |
↑It takes some effort to care for it, but I’m really enjoying my kimono life♪
