お友だちが家に遊びに来てくれること、ありますよね。
せっかく自分の時間を割いて、わざわざ足を運んでくれるからには、めいっぱいおもてなししたいというのがわたしの考えです。
だから「しまった！やり忘れた！」ということがないように、来客前にすることをリストにしています。

| お菓子を出す | できれば手作りで。わたしがよく作るのはスコーンやフィナンシェ。 | |
| 音楽を流す | 大人だけの時はカフェ風のもの、 子どもたちもいる場合はキッズミュージックを。 | |
| メモを見返す | 特に仲の良い人の場合。趣味のこと、家族のことなど、毎回のおしゃべりの後にメモを残しているので、それを見返します。同じことを聞かなくて済むし、相手の話したことをきちんと覚えていることで、「あなたのことが大事だよ」とアピールできます。 |
ちゃんと準備できたら、あとはおしゃべりを楽しむだけです。

Guest Visit Checklist
Sometimes, friends come over to visit, right? Since they’re taking the time to come all the way to our place, I believe it’s important to give them the best hospitality.
To avoid the feeling of, “Oh no! I forgot something!” I’ve created a list of things to do before guests arrive. Once everything is prepared, all that’s left is to enjoy the conversation.

| Living Room | Prepare small towels | I tell guests, “Use this if your hands get dirty or after washing them.” Some may not want to use the shared bathroom towel, or they might have forgotten their own handkerchief. |
| Vacuum the floor | ||
| Light a candle | I don’t do this when small children are present. | |
| Prepare drinks | I ask about preferences in advance. If they like tea, I prepare a tea set. If they prefer coffee, I set up the coffee machine. | |
| Serve sweets | Preferably homemade. I often make scones or financiers. | |
| Play background music | If it’s just adults, I choose café-style music. If children are present, I play kids’ music. | |
| Review my notes | Especially for close friends. I take notes after each conversation about hobbies, family, etc., and review them before they visit. This way, I don’t ask the same questions again and show that I truly care about them. |
